World Tree

A world tree is one of many trees in the world which grow impossibly big and gain a sentience of its own. These trees have unique mystical powers.

Purpose

Prison

In the mythic past, a great Beast unleashed across the world, almost destroying it. It was imprisoned underneath the roots of a great tree. The world trees were created to create a prison to keep this entity locked away. Destruction of the world trees weakens this prison.

Travel

All world trees are connected via magical paths that can be traveled by anyone the trees allow. The midgardians refer to this path as the Rotbanen.
