Stone circle
A stone circle (elven: cylch cerrig), also called a menhir circle, is a monument of standing stones arranged in a circle. Such monuments have been constructed across the world throughout history for many different reasons.
The best known tradition of stone circle construction can attributed to the sylvan elves of the Thantena Forest. Hundreds of examples are littered throughout Tir'Ein. These elven circles go back to the mythic ages, some seemingly date beyond time.
The size and number of the stones varies from example to example, and the circle shape can be an ellipse.
Notable stone circles
- Carn Haduniad: Located on the Bluog Seirff Sea shoreline. The circle marks the location where Bran Gwerin's toe touched the sea, summoning the King of the Aquatic Elves who gifted him with Pierces the Night.
- Fomorifaner: Located just outside the village of Cairshengol, in Caltirech.
