Sedeuses

Sedeuses was a spiritual teacher and founder of the Way of the Petal. He is regarded by dragonborn as a prophet of the gods and the universal energy they represent. He was also active as a diplomat, merchant, philosopher, orator, legislator, reformer, and an agent of divine action. He lead the great dragonborn exodus from Aquaria after the human emperor refused to reform Aquarian society to allow for more leniency and mercy to its populace.

He discovered the meaning of Anigma, the soulfire. The energy that dragonborn tap into to recall their breath whether it is fire, ice or anything else. It is the vital and life sustaining energy of all living things.

Accounts of his life, discourses and monastic rules have been summarized after his death and memorized by his followers. Various collections of teachings attributed to him were written and widely distributed.

His name is the origin of the word Sedition.

For Sedeuses, the purpose of philosophy was to attain the happy, tranquil life, characterized by ataraxia—peace and freedom from fear—and aponia—the absence of pain—and by living a self-sufficient life surrounded by friends. He taught that pleasure and pain are the measures of what is good and evil; death is the end of both body and soul and should therefore not be feared; the gods neither reward nor punish humans; the universe is infinite and eternal; and events in the world are ultimately based on the motions and interactions of atoms moving in empty space.
