Lady Maerynn Whitestone is the wife of Lord Stelen Whitestone. When her grandfather, Lord Isem Ostwyrt, was burned to death by a black maester, she swore to never allow herself to be the victim to magic. Her father, Lord Heymon Ostwyrt, begrudgingly allowed her to take up martial training. She hates magic and distrusts any one capable of casting spells. She values a quick spear-arm and a strong shield over anything else.

Her brother is Lord Warryn Ostwyrt. Maerynn finds his ability to connect with the dead to be distasteful at best, but values her family too much to allow it to get between them.
