Layer is an orphaned boy found in 1373 by Tenser and taken in as an apprentice. His real name is unknown, but his unique gift for wizardry and summoning is well documented. A quiet and obedient boy, Layer hides a subtle darkness behind his eyes.

After the disjunction of Tenser, he was placed as a ward under Kylie the Just.
