Gil
The gil is the unit of Noran currency and is defined by the Gillings Manuscript to be worth one-tenth a pound of gold. The gil is normally abbreviated by a lower case "g" after a monetary amount. It is divided into 10 knights (2 Bolts or 100 chips).
The first official coinage of Nora was minted in Gillings, Canstice in 14 NS. While the coins have changed in design with each new reissue, the exchange rates have stayed the same, if not the worth.
Originally made of solid gold, the gil currently has a small golden core surrounded with a silvered alloy.
