Zhan Shi (Shaoan: 嶄士; Zhǎn Shì) was a Mao Dynasty official who seized the throne from the Wèi imperial family and founded the Zhan Dynasty. Some historians have traditionally viewed Zhan as a usurper, while others have portrayed him as a visionary and selfless social reformer. A learned Shaoan scholar who sought to implement the harmonious society he saw in the classics.
